    Physical Exercise

    Proper exercise for dogs is invaluable. Within our adventures, the dogs in our packs often run more than 10 kilometers per walk as they explore, play, and train within their pack. Consistent exercise through our adventures helps to prevent injury, build muscle, manage weight, deter boredom, and enhances their quality of life.

    Mental Enrichment

    Mental enrichment builds a dog’s confidence, reduces stress, and improves their mental well-being. Our adventures encourage your dog to be enriched by following their natural instincts through sniffing, exploring, and playing along with mental challenges through training and problem solving.

    Structured Socialization

    In our packs, each dog develops trusting friendships which allow them to engage in playful, confidence building behaviour with other well-behaved, friendly dogs in a safe environment. This also teaches dogs to read dog body language and ques, helping them to develop great social manners and prevent reactivity.

It’s been a prominent discussion in the dog industry that daycare facilities often cause more stress on the dogs due to their unnatural environment, so we offer the opposite! Unlike traditional dog daycares, we believe in giving dogs the space and structure on our adventures to truly be themselves!

We follow an evidence-based approach to extensively train each dog to ensure their safety and build positive relationships with their pack leader.

We carefully select our packs based on energy-levels, playfulness, and sociability and strictly exclude dogs with aggression or reactivity.

Our pack leaders are constantly undergoing more training to ensure we can provide the most enriching, positive experiences for each and every dog.

Offerings

  • Each adventure is at least 2 hours in length, not including transportation time. Round trip, our adventures are between 3-4.5 hours long.

  • We offer pick ups and drop offs included in our pricing, which allow your dog to remain in the comfort of their own home when not adventuring. 

  • Each walk is $60 CAD. Multi-walk discounts are available if your dog adventures with us 3 or more days per week.

  • Douglas Dog Care is fully insured with Profur Canada and licensed, ensuring your dog is protected.

  • Overnight care is available for existing clients only who are participating in our pack walks at least once per week.

    This ensures their stay with us is like a vacation rather than a stressful time away from their owners!

  • Each dog in our pack undergoes extensive recall and overall manners training to ensure their safety and comfort.

    Some dogs may require private 1-on-1 training before joining our adventures, for example young puppies or dogs who have not been off-leash extensively.
